HPNA is proud to host a transformative educational conference designed specifically for Registered Nurses, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Nursing Assistants in the hospice and palliative care field. This conference offers a unique opportunity for professionals to deepen their clinical knowledge, enhance their caregiving skills, and connect with a network of like-minded individuals who share a passion for compassionate, person-centered care.
The 2027 HPNA Conference will provide ANCC NCPD contact hours, including Pharmacotherapeutic contact hours, for qualifying content.
Abstract submissions for oral presentations and posters will be accepted through January 18, 2027. Presenters will be notified of acceptance by May 1, 2027.
This is an in-person event, and all accepted posters and oral presentations will be presented live at the conference. Oral presentations will also be recorded and made available for on-demand access following the live conference. In addition, a limited number of abstracts may be selected for curated, on-demand access only.
Accepted oral presentations will receive 50% off conference registration.
Accepted poster presentations will receive 25% off conference registration.
100% of travel and hotel costs are at the expense of the presenter.
Review the below checklist before you submit your abstract to improve the likelihood of its acceptance.
Review the available topic areas and select your top two choices.
If submitting an abstract for an oral concurrent session, confirm that the research is complete at the time of submission.
Ensure that the topic is applicable to hospice and palliative nursing.
Identify the intended target audience for your session.
Provide sufficient background information to establish the significance and importance of the problem addressed.
Identify the learning level for the abstract (e.g., Novice, Early Career, Competent, Expert).
Include a brief (100 words) summary and a more detailed abstract (300 words).
Ensure your title accurately reflects the presentation content. Titles will not be changed unless requested by the Conference Planning Committee.
Ensure that implications and conclusions are supported by the results presented.
Include at least 3 scholarly references published within the last five years.
Define all acronyms and any obscure, new, or specialized concepts or terminology.
Include an updated copy of your CV or resume.
Abstract reviews will focus on the following questions:
Does the abstract add to existing knowledge and present an innovative/cutting-edge topic?
Is the scientific/clinical content valid and support the conclusions?
